A downloadable Portfolio Piece

Theory of Pessimism is a current WIP project started by me and close friend/peer Thomas Kinney, for our GAME 3150 03 Digital RPG Design class. The game is a modern/action RPG that takes place in a fictional county in southeast New Mexico, sandwiched between Chihuahua, Mexico and El Paso County, Texas just left of the Rio Grande, in what is real-life Doña Ana county. The game takes a satirical approach to the qualms of both redneck society, urban decay and government corrpution/oppression, as well as organized crime and separation among community. You play as Ollie, your typical millenial who mysteriously wakes up in a dinky jail cell in this barren desert called Toad County. The gameplay is founded upon exploration and fighting, where you fight in real-time, simulating similar mechanics as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for the NES. The game also takes inspiration from Grand Theft Auto with it's themes and NES area Legend of Zelda with some of it's art direction.

This game is intended for mature audiences.
